Hello, everybody. Kathleen Seeley here. And I have a question for you now. The answer is obvious, but it's, what's behind the answer that may shift your thinking about what really drives you now, when you squeeze an orange, what comes out? Apple juice, grape juice. Nope. Just orange juice. Well, duh, right. Now, I'm not trying to insult you.
I'm using this to make a point. So let me go to somebody little deeper. Why is it that orange juice comes out is because that's, what's inside now. Think about it when you're under pressure. When the heat is on what comes out of you, do you get angry, offensive, withdraw, or retreat, or are you able to stay grounded, focused, present, and open to learn?
Here's the thing. We have secret drivers to our behavior and those secret drivers are our values and our values underpin everything that we do when things trigger us. When we're plugged in, or when we're feeling inspired, it's our values that are either being bumped up against or lived in their most positive expression.
My good friend and Tor and Roth of the beret value center shared a powerful metaphor with me to help illustrate how those secret drivers to our behavior determine the results we experience in our life. He uses a tree to brilliantly illustrate the visible and invisible aspects of our lives. And he suggests that our reality consists of parts usable and parts that are not the roots of the tree, represent our beliefs in our fears and our judgements, our prejudice and our values, all the things you can't see, but you can definitely feel.
All that is above the ground is what we produce, what we can see the tangible outcome or the physical expression of what's below. So what is it that enables a tree to grow strong and viable? It's the health of the roots, the quality of the soil and how we tend to it that determines the health of the tree, the leaves and the bounty of the fruit, the strength and depth of the roots.
Also determined how well the tree can weather a storm. Torah suggests a tree needs to be well grounded in order to stand through tents, whether that's kind of like life, isn't it. It's always challenging us understanding our roots or our personal values. And how do we align our behavior to those values helps us stay strong during the storms of our lives and guide us to live.
I think a soul, a life full of passion and purpose. So why not take time to explore and nurture your roots. Begin to experience the power of leveraging your personal values to create more happiness, fulfillment, and success in your life. Hey, thanks for watching. You can like subscriber comment.
