What you want lies on the other side of Clarity. Here are 5 ways to gain more clarity in your life:
We schedule all of the ‘important’ things in our life. We are always an app away on our computer, phone, or tablet to see what’s happening this week, and we follow it. Leverage the structures you already have in your life and schedule in QUIET TIME. I’m serious. Open your iCal and schedule it in and hold it like all your other events that you never miss.
In my experience, clarity comes from saying “no” more and “yes” less, but that does not mean shutting new things out of your life. It means trying new things, big things, small things, any things. Like no cream in your coffee for a week. In 7 days, you will know how much you love cream in your coffee, or maybe it was just a habit, and you are happy to continue on without it. Either way, you know another thing about who you are today and what you like.
I mean it is self-explanatory…a clean desk, bedside table, kitchen, closet, or pantry, can make you feel like a whole new person. Little things (like clutter) weigh on us more than we think. If you have a lot to clean up around you, just start with a small space where you spend most of your time.
Clarity today comes pretty easy if you have a list. Take your list to the next level by narrowing it to 5 things. Put them in order of importance and DO NOT start #2 until #1 is done! This is a simple thing that goes a long way, plus there are few things in life as satisfying as crossing off a list item.
Who you are, what is important to you sometimes slip, and you stop and think to yourself..” wait, what do I actually care about.” Real-life has a way of keeping us distracted and then BOOM; you’re working a job you hate, with a partner you don’t love, or a lifestyle that no longer serves you.
I live my life and have designed my work with the belief that our Values underpin everything we do. Values are identifiable, measurable, and experienced in our daily lives. Finding clarity of what are values are, what they mean, and how they manifest in our behavior, is a powerful way to get clear.
Values are powerful and I have a free and easy tool to help you discover your values and what they mean. I have partnered up with the Barrett Values Center to offer you the FREE Personal Values Assessment (PVA).
It takes 5 minutes or less to complete and the results are sent straight to the email that you provide.
5 minutes self-assessment delivered to your inbox with insights and analysis into Your Values & what they mean.
